All businesses have an environmental footprint.

But we’re working hard to minimise ours.

After more than 15 years creating innovative solutions aimed at reducing single-use plastic, we can see by the results that we are on the right track. But we’ll keep on finding new ways to replace plastic and make it easier for people at any stage of their climate journey to work towards a greener tomorrow. We are with you all the way!

The Six R’s of better plastic use

  • Reporting - estimating plastic annual usage (plastic footprint), identifying targets to mitigate plastic in the future, and reporting on performance
  • Recovery - collecting the plastic waste put into the market, either directly or via partnerships with high integrity projects that recover plastic from the environment in the world’s plastic pollution hotspots
  • Recycling - recycling the plastic waste put into the market, either directly or via partnerships with high integrity projects that recycle plastic in the world’s plastic pollution hotspots

  • Reduction - reducing the amount of virgin plastic used including through redesign, lightweighting and use of alternative, more sustainable materials
  • Recyclability - using plastic packaging that may be recycled and improving recyclability of plastic packaging
  • Recycled Content - increasing the amount of recycled plastic used in products delivered to market.

Funding native tree planting

We’ve been contributing to TreesThatCount every year since 2019. To date, we have funded 3,000 trees which will help to remove approximately 683 tonnes of carbon dioxide from our atmosphere over 50 years.

Fighting ocean plastic

Ocean plastic is a massive problem. 8 million tons of plastic pours into our oceans every year killing marine life and threatening ecosystems. It’s widely predicated that there will be more plastic than fish in the ocean by 2050!

Online store carbon offset

With every purchase our online customers are given the opportunity to offset emissions and contribute to forest restoration, tree planting, and renewable energy.

Packaging improvements

We’re constantly looking at our own products in a bid to refine our packaging. Wherever possible we use simple kraft paper sleeves, recycled packaging, and minimal box stuffing.

Ethical sourcing & sustainable material choices

Our products use raw materials from the developing world. We seek out Fairtrade, SEDEX, Seedling home compostable, and SEArcular certification because honest supply chains and local sustainability are important to us.

Minimising office & warehouse impact

We do our best to walk the talk—by composting our office waste, recycling all cardboard & paper products, investing in electric cars & forklift, recycling pallet wrap & plastics, and minimising energy consumption.

Sustainability award winners

In 2024 we took home the Excellence in Sustainability Award from the East Auckland Business Awards. It’s not our first prestigious award (in 2019 we were named in the Deloitte’s Fast 50 index) and while we’re tickled to be recognised, accolades are not what we’re chasing. We’re chasing the dream of a cleaner, greener future for generations to come. Now that’s worth celebrating!
