We love giving back to the environment through Trees That Count. And it's such a delight to learn about the planters who receive native trees from our donations.
We recently pledged another 500 trees to the cause. Of that, 100 trees have already been allocated to a planting project - they're on their way to the Moehau Environment Group to add to the Waikawau Children's Forest.
Moehau Environment Group is a non-profit volunteer organization dedicated to the protection and enhancement of the natural environment of the Northern Coromandel Peninsula. They've been planting natives on DOC land, in conjunction with a local school for a decade. Impressive!
For the past four years we've funded 500 native trees each year, which supply planting projects across Aotearoa. All up we've funded 2,000 trees to date - which translates into about 455 tonnes of carbon removed from our atmosphere.
