Choose the World You Want - Fairtrade Fortnight 6 – 19 August 2021

Next week signals the beginning of Fairtrade Fortnight - an annual campaign organised by Fairtrade Australia and New Zealand that celebrates all things Fairtrade. It’s an opportunity for us to celebrate the positive impact that purchasing Fairtrade products (like our Fairtrade cotton bags) has.

This year the Fairtrade Fortnight theme is ‘Choose the world you want’. By buying Fairtrade, you’re choosing a better future. You’re choosing a world where women are respected - a world where the environment is taken care of - a world where everyone is treated fairly. That’s the world we at Ecobags want to live in!

A little more about Fairtrade

We want a fair deal for farmers and we care about our planet’s future. By providing Fairtrade cotton products, we’re choosing to give farmers a fair deal because the base cotton is purchased by paying at least a Fairtrade minimum price, which set to cover the sustainable cost of production (or market price when it’s higher). Over and above that, a Fairtrade premium is also paid. This is an additional sum of money, which goes into a communal fund for workers to use – as they see fit – to improve their social, economic and environmental conditions.

Our Fairtrade certified cotton bags

Every August, during Fairtrade Fortnight, we celebrate the positive mark that is made on families and communities by our products that carry the Fairtrade Mark.

You can contribute too by purchasing these products:

Fairtrade & Organic Cotton Tote Bag

Fairtrade & Organic Cotton “I’m a Good Bag” Tote

Fairtrade & Organic Cotton Reusable String Bag with Long Handle

Fairtrade & Organic Cotton Reusable String Bag with Short Handle

Fairtrade & Organic Canvas Tote Bag with Extra Capacity

You can make a difference!

Choosing our Fairtrade products is a simple way you can choose the world you want too. Help us enable cotton farmers to thrive in tough market conditions, in the face of global warming, and help invest in strengthening their businesses and communities. When you shop, look for the Fairtrade mark.
